On Friday, May 8, 2026, our 8th grade students enjoyed an unforgettable evening at the Clifdale Middle Semi-Formal Dance! The night was filled with laughter, dancing, great music, and wonderful memories with friends. Our students looked absolutely amazing and had an incredible time celebrating the end of their middle school journey. Check out some of the highlights from this special evening below!

To kick off SC READY Testing Week, Clifdale Middle will celebrate with a fun Pajama Day!
Students are invited to wear their favorite (school-appropriate) pajamas as we get ready to do our best on testing!
Reminder:
All attire must follow the school dress code. Pajamas should be appropriate for school, and no slippers or items that violate dress code guidelines.
Let’s start testing week relaxed, confident, and ready to succeed!
To our students: take a moment to notice the people who show up for you every day. The teachers who push you to grow, the staff who keep our school running, and the adults who believe in you even when you don’t believe in yourself.

Aletxa is a wonderful student who consistently works hard and always does her best in class. She is responsible, kind, and a joy to have each day.
Jamaari is a great student! He is helpful to those around him, always tries his best, and strives to be a great person. We truly enjoy having him in class.
Cayleigh deserves Student of the Month recognition because she always gives her very best. She is resilient, a fantastic classmate, and greets everyone with a smile. Cayleigh is always willing to help others and puts forth her best effort in everything she does.
Owen consistently demonstrates academic growth, respectful behavior, and a willingness to help classmates. He comes to school ready to learn each day and serves as a positive role model for his peers. Owen truly represents the values we hope to see in all students.
Peyton is a hardworking student with a positive attitude. He arrives ready to learn and always gives his best effort. Peyton is a great role model who shows kindness and respect to everyone around him.
Mahkaya is always eager to participate and is often one of the first to raise her hand to answer questions. She completes her work independently and accurately, seeks help when needed, and is a great partner during group activities. Mahkaya is respectful and a pleasure to teach.
Clifdale Middle will be administering the SC READY state assessments May 5–8. We encourage all students to do their very best and show what they have learned this year!
To help students feel confident and prepared, please remind them to use these testing strategies:
✔ Get a good night’s sleep each night before testing
✔ Eat a healthy breakfast in the morning
✔ Read each question carefully and underline key words
✔ Eliminate answer choices that do not make sense
✔ Pace yourself and don’t rush
✔ Use all testing time wisely
✔ Stay positive and do your best!
Reminder: Students should also bring a fully charged laptop to school each day of testing.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Department will be visiting our campus for a special Lunch and Learn with our 6th and 7th grade students on Thursday, April 23, 2026, during their scheduled lunch times.
Students will have the opportunity to interact with officers, ask questions, and explore department vehicles.
We are excited for this engaging opportunity for our students to learn more about law enforcement and community partnerships!
A parent letter containing important information about SC READY Testing will be sent home with students. Please take a moment to review this letter with your child.

The "Reality of Money Simulation" presented by Carolina Foothills Bank was a HUGE SUCCESS at Clifdale! The students learned the importance of making good choices concerning their education, credit, planning for retirement, and budgeting.
SC READY state testing is right around the corner, and we want to make sure our students are fully prepared to do their best! These assessments are an important opportunity for students to show what they’ve learned this year.
